As the Spring season approaches, there is one thing that lives on the minds of the Weddington High School juniors and seniors: Prom. On April 27th, 2024, Weddington will hold its 24th annual prom, and it will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Charlotte. Prom is a crucial part of the school year, as it signifies the semester coming to an end. This is an especially important event for seniors, as it marks their last school dance.
“I think prom is an important staple of one’s high school career… I would say it’s something that is important for seniors to attend,” senior Brody Lockhart stated.
Tickets sales will start within the next month, and students can get a discount code if they attend the Prom Fashion Show. Though the theme has not yet been announced, many are excited to see what the Student Government officers will come up with this year.
“The junior officers are working hard to plan this year’s theme that will be announced at the end of Prom Fashion Show,” Anna Waldrup, advisor for student government, stated.
Prom has not only become a tradition for high school students everywhere, but a way to say goodbye to the school year. Make sure to buy your tickets!
