Weddington High School’s pep rally on February 14th was a huge success.

Weddington High School does a pep rally every spring and fall; the last pep rally was on September 26th, 2025.
Weddington High School student Rylee Kidd states, “It was loud, chaotic, and occasionally, I had no idea what was happening. The swim team almost missed our cue to walk out. But the kids who volunteered for the events made it entertaining.”
The most popular game of the pep rally was a strange challenge which involved laying a person on a table with many people laying underneath. The goal of the game was for the people underneath the table to roll the person on top of the table all the way to the end without knocking them over. Another strange challenge involved a game where one student would drag another student back and forth across the gym floor to see who had the most strength–truly an interesting sight.
Student Isabella Young recalls these games, “It was very loud and a little scary when people were being dragged across the floor or getting crushed by a table, but I got to see my friends so it was okay.”
Although some report that the pep rally went by too fast and that they wish it was longer, many students enjoyed seeing their friends and favorite teachers, and the uniqueness of the games really made for a memorable day. Overall, the pride of Weddington remains at an all time high.
