Weddington High School, located in Matthews, NC, is always finding new staff members, including teachers and counselors. During the 2023-2024 school year, they have hired 15 new staff members and are currently in search of a new science teacher.
Like many others, this is guidance counselor, Jumana Soggins, first year at Weddington. She shared her thoughts about being a new member of Weddington High stating that “The people here are very nice, and the energy’s fantastic…”
Three new guidance counselors were hired at Weddington: Laura Lemin, Jumana Soggins, and Jenni Allen as well as two new CTE teachers: Gina Gurchiek and Jacking Williams. The English department added Thomas Forrest, Allison Malady, and Chris Anderson. Joining the science team is Lindsey Bruce, Katherine Wenger, and Jennifer Smith and the social studies team added Lisa Brienza, Shawn Hawthorne, and Emily Vespo. Lastly, the World Language team added Melissa London.
