Weddington High School in Charlotte, NC is very widely known for its football team. This team is very impressive with a very recent state Championship win in 2023.

Last year was a very impressive season for Weddington with a bittersweet ending. They went undefeated all season but then in the last game before the state championship they lost to Grimsley High School 35-23. This next season is a redemption season to be proud of how good they did last year but this time to make it back to the state championship game and win it.

The reason this team is so good is because of its many stars including Javon Barber with 42.8 receiving yards per game, Nick Diamond with 96.4 rushing yards per game, Aiden Harris with 13.5 sacks. James Colonna and TJ Davis lead the team with interceptions. These are just a few of the players that make this team so good. These players are leaders and really show how to play as a team on and off the field. Many of these players are going to pursue their football careers in college soon and maybe even go farther than that. Even if some of these players are going to end their football careers in High School they should know they made such a huge impact on this football team and this school. The legacy of this school and the football team will never be forgotten.
