Weddington put up a brave front against Marvin, but the game had ended in favor of the Mavericks with a score of 40-24. Lead scorer for Weddington was junior Bailey Page, who earned her team 12 points, followed by Madison Motto who scored 7 points, Ella Bergma, who rallied up 3 points and Sydney Sitren made 2 baskets. Leading rebounders were Madison Motto, seizing 7 rebounds, and Emerson Townshend and Natalie Poole, each snatching 3 rebounds. Caroline Clark and Bailey Page both contributed to 2 assists.
Head coach, Daniel Welch was asked to share his thoughts on the game, “I feel like it was a good night for senior night. We had a pretty good performance… We battled with what we had till the end and they just kind of ran the clock out on us and we just didn’t have enough in the end to get it done but it was a good fight and I’m proud of the girls and how they played.”
