Performer’s Perspective: Winter Wonderland – A Musical Holiday Celebration!

Performer’s Perspective is a series of articles written by Weddington High School actor, singer, dancer, and performer Kaleb Dufrene. The articles give Kaleb’s perspective of performing on stage at Weddington High in events such as Show Choir/Chorus, Unscripted, NCTC, the fall play, and the spring musical, among other special events.

If I’m being honest, Christmas music was playing in my car well before Thanksgiving meals were being cooked. Some of the best parts of Christmastime are the lights, food, music, and celebration. It can be argued that without music Christmastime wouldn’t be as special. Since Christmas music is so special, why not come experience live Christmas music for yourself here at Weddington? Our winter chorus concert is filled with splendid music that is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Favorite Christmas carol classics are included as well as new pop ballads such as “Mistletoe” by Justin Beiber, “The Christmas Shoes”, and a Pentatonix version of “Up on the House-Top”. Besides cheerful classics that express the Christmas spirit, Chorus & Show Choir students have worked extremely hard, spending countless hours pouring over music, choreography, and practicing Christmas music since August. As a Junior, this is my third year performing in our chorus concerts, and I can assure you, it is one of the most special times of the year. Seeing all of our hard work pay off on stage is one of the most rewarding things. However, this would not have been possible without the dedication of our program director, Michael Dove. If you are looking for warm holiday music to brighten your spirits, then this special holiday concert is for you.
