Kicking off the school year, Weddington High School has made significant change through the recycling society. Every Tuesday, the student-warriors come together and tidy up the halls, paving the way for a more eco-friendly environment that has not only impacted them, but also students around them. Their determined efforts and passion not only spread awareness about the importance of a greener campus, but also the society.
Environmental Club Advisor, Hannah Wright conveys her enthusiasm when she stated, “It’s our earth, and everyone that lives on it should care for the environment.”
In the past, the club organized activities like planting varieties of crops and creating nature themed crafts such as painting recycling bins, using recycled materials to make ornaments and hanging up posters.
“We hope to create a community where everyone can contribute to the awareness of the planet,” said Senior Emma Bach, President of the club.
With continued efforts and dedication, the Weddington Warriors strive to leave a lasting impact on their surroundings and the world around them. `
