First year Earth and Environmental science teacher, Ms. Caroline Aycock has won WHS Beginning Teacher of the Year. Ms. Aycock graduated from Sun Valley High school in 2020 and it was a natural course to become a teacher here at Weddington after she graduated UNC Charlotte 2024, seeing as her mother teaches at the middle school and that is where she did her student teaching.

She has made a great effort with her students while also being a floater which means she doesn’t have a classroom, but she has made it work and excelled in this new environment.

You can find her walking the halls with her classroom cart, in one of her classrooms discussing Outer Banks with students, or conducting exciting labs. Ms. Aycock is a great blossoming teacher and we hope for great things next semester and congratulate her on this accomplishment. She commented that “It was an honor to be recognized” and that she deeply enjoys working at Weddington.
