In-class academic learning and teaching has been an effective method for a long time. Since COVID-19 pandemic, everyone had to turn to technology to learn, and it was sufficient and still delivering the same content if not better.
In the present time, technology has been a key aspect in life, including education. It helps students complete difficult assignments quickly and efficiently, but it depends on how the educator uses this technology to meet the needs of the student. The right way an educator could use digital technology can boost a students engagement, assist teachers in improving lesson plans, enable personalized learning, and help students develop critical thinking.
Students benefit from using technology in different ways like, visual, auditory, and reading and writing. Students can choose how they want to learn with technology whether it’s with peers or not, learning at their own pace, and having the opportunity to learn anywhere at any time. Students learning from technology can improve their life skills like: communication skills, problem-solving skills, and engagement in working assignments.
Weddington High School Student, Jaden Nnaji, who was at the school during the pandemic and had to switch to online classes, said, “felt that online schooling was better than in-school learning as I could manage my time way better doing online work than in-school assignments.”
From new generations of learning opportunities, more student involvement, personalized learning experiences, and better access to educational materials, technology has significantly changed high school education. With the use of digital technologies, online resources, and interactive teaching techniques, educators and students have more resources to meet the challenges of modern schooling.
