Curriculum night is an important school event that takes place directly before the school year starts. It is designed to inform students and parents about what the school year is going to bring, and more importantly, facility and staff will go over the semester’s class work and school rules in order to make sure you and your child are aware of the class’s content.
Mrs. Minken is one of our administrators at Weddington high school. She helps plan as well as carry out these events. She believes that curriculum night is important because “It is a peak into what the rest of the class will be like for the students as well as the parents.”
Curriculum night has been a substantial part of the High School experience since the early 1990’s. At Weddington, they take curriculum night very seriously because the parents of all the students that enroll there get to experience what it’s like being with their child for a night.
Curriculum night may seem insignificant, but it’s necessary if you want your student to have a productive school year. On the parent’s side it is important knowing what your kid does and the work that they will be doing on a daily basis when they go to school. Overall, Curriculum night is a fun and positive experience for families to learn about how our school system works.
