On September 12, 2023, Apple announced the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus to the world. It will have an advanced camera system and will give roadside assistance to users so they can contact AAA via satellite if they have trouble. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in five colors: black, green, blue, pink, and yellow, with pre-orders beginning on September 15, while regular availability will be on September 22. Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of worldwide iPhone 15 Product Marketing, said, “iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus represent a huge leap forward with exciting camera innovations that inspire creativity, the intuitive Dynamic Island, and features like Roadside Assistance via satellite that make a real difference in users’ lives. We’re also pushing the power of computational photography to new levels this year with a 48 MP Main Camera featuring a new 24 MP default for super- high- -high-resolution photos, a new 2x Telephoto option, and next-generation portraits.”
Durable Design with an Advanced Display
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes and will feature Dynamic Island, which is a new way to interact with Live Activities and important alerts. This experience will change so users can see the next direction in Maps, control music, and with integrations, get updates on things like ridesharing, sports scores, food delivery, and travel plans. Users will be able to use the Super Retina XDR display to steam Apple Fitness workouts, stream content, and play games. Peak XDR brightness will reach up to 1,600 nits, and when it’s sunny outside, peak outdoor brightness will reach up to 2,000 nits, which is double the brightness of the previous iPhones. The iPhone has a water and dust-resistant design and industry-leading durability features, so it will last longer than any other smartphone. Also, the internal design will improve the affordability and easiness of repairs.
Safety Capabilities
The iPhone 15 will offer safety capabilities including Emergency SOS via satellite and crash detection. The Emergency SOS via satellite is available in sixteen countries and regions on three continents. Roadside Assistance via satellite will begin in the US, and not be available in other countries. When a user is having car trouble and there’s no Wi-Fi available, they will be able to connect to AAA. This will be included for free for two years. According to the AAA membership, it will also be available separately for non-members.
